According to Webster's Online Dictionary, Accoppiato is an Italian word that means joined or matched. It was the obvious name choice for this ensemble because the members are all good friends.
Biography
The members of Accoppiato Ensemble have been together since the summer of 2009 when they discovered that they all had the same teacher. They have all been playing their instruments since third grade, and meet regularly, usually once a week at a member's house. The string quartet is comprised of two violins, one viola, and one cello whose members share a love of reading, music, and playing their instruments. Past events include private parties, funerals, festivals, retirement homes, weddings and school functions. They also have also participated in the County and State Solo and Ensemble Festivals where they received superior ratings.
